SOLVit Network Support and GIVIT are excited to announce a joint partnership working to redistribute pre-loved IT equipment across the capital region to those who need it most during the COVID-19 crisis. As technology changes at such a rapid pace, SOLVit receives many IT devices that are still in working condition but have outgrown the needs of local companies and organisations.
SOLVit will donate its time to prepare these devices, clearing them of all data making them ready to go safely and securely to a new home. GIVIT, through its online donation portal, will distribute all devices to trusted registered charities and community organisations across the region.
2020 has brought about significant challenges for the Canberra community – from bushfires to severe weather events and now, the impacts of COVID-19. By re-purposing these pre-loved items, it greatly reduces the number of devices making their way to landfill or e-waste recycling services and helps those who need it most.
